  • Anybody who would drive a prius would suck a cock. Think about that the next time you see a self righteous tree hugger in one, you'll know I'm right.

  • The Prius does actually have a use: it lets you easily identify douchebags since they're the ones driving them.

  • He is right though, the 10 year carbon life cycle for a Prius is actually higher than a VW Polo Diesel. So you end up buying an ugly slow car that costs a fortune to repair when it breaks down who's fuel efficiency it nothing to write home about. The sad reality is if I went and purchased a second hand V8 for the next 5 years my carbon footprint would be lower than a new Prius because manufacturing a car produces a horrendous amount of carbon before you even drive it. So if you want to be truly More..

  • Finally … green cars have used up their 15 minutes .. sales are down and people are reverting back to the tried and true gas guzzlers .. everyone who wants a Prius, or similar, already has one now. No more sales.

BTW - 3D TV's have gone the same path ... if not there already.

  • Thats BS, you can use ANY car to go from point "A" to point "B", no "need" to have a V8-V10-V12-W16, etc.

Only if you NEED that power to tow, work, haul, etc, then a bigger block/ more cilinders its a most.

I mean a V-12 to go buy some bread 4 blocks from your home?
    "Top Gear" sometimes sucks.

  • 100's of kg of batteries made in Asia that you haul around and which last no more than 5 years even at optimum charge ... topped up from fossil fuel power stations ... and disposed of how?

These things have a life time carbon foot-print the size of a charcoal sasquatch but wooly minded green-tards will queue up to buy them

  • If your driving a 8 cylinder jeep thats giving you 12 miles to a gallon and filling up the tank a little more than twice a week, a Prius would sound good to me. Spending $140-$160 a week for a total of $550-$600 a month with the 8 cylinder and my co worker who lives a little less than a mile from where i live and he fills his tank up once every 3 weeks. Do the math. Who gives a flying fu#k that its a little slow. Living in a big city can be expensive and gas is only gonna get more expensive.

    • @Sarcastical

Its a pile of shit, and unlike the jeep, it cannot tow anything, it cannot drive off road, and for what it is.. a very minimal car that is good only for a commute to and from work over paved roads, its very expensive.

I would take a good 20mpg mid sized pickup over that pitiful pile of shit any day... In fact , I did.

Less maintenance, more flexibility, less douchfag appearance, and the ability to do something other than putt around slowly looking like a flagrant homosexual.

    • @Nothingisfree
you nailed, Less maintenance, most people that owned one are business owners and corporations that use them for the tax breaks and Write-off.
Don't mention that after warranty is gone The price for Prius hybrid batteries is around the $2300

  • I hate getting behind one of those when trying to get on the highway.
    Damn near get run over.
Several normal and far less expensive cars get excellent mileage than to buy that pile of junk. Imagine trying to take it to a regular mechanic.

  • I've owned two toyota cars. Should've learned my lesson on the first.

Over priced, over promoted, poor handling, poorly engineered (although granted they were reliable) but worst of all was the extremely expensive servicing.

It actually would have worked out cheaper to just change the engine oil myself at the required intervals, do no other servicing and then toss the car away after five or six years.
