We didn't have cars at that time. Only some antique Russian and American trucks from WWII ran on road. Pretty much like what you see in the street of today's North Korea.

@doriedd Actually when you consider traffic congestion these days, traffic actually moved faster in the 1800s than it does today. Here in Sydney I believe traffic in the inner city today moves on average 5-10mph slower..
