On the eve of the last day of the tar sands protests, an unusually large Critical Mass bike ride took to the streets. One rider counted 86 bikes at about the first quarter of the ride after initially estimating 100-150. Seems to me that's at least 86 less potential customers for tar sand oil gasoline!
At one point, the ride occupied Madison Drive from 7th at all the way to 15th st, and at other points the ride usually occupied at least three blocks that were wall to wall bikes(curb to centerline, not curb to curb).
