  • "Don't worry about us, we're trained."

    That is chilling as fuck.

    • @kajidono Well they are trained, but I agree, I didn't like the way he said it. At least around here they all have assault rifles in there cars anyways.

    • @jfm8561 You know, you can probably trust that guy with those weapons, but that's not the problem. What about the next guy, and the next guy, and the next guy, all the while with more and more of these weapons being handed out.

At some point, it will become a major problem. This is why we have such strict rules prohibiting and restricting military operations within our own borders. Militarizing the civilian police forces is an end run around those rules. This has to be stopped before we lose th More..

    • @kajidono Personally I don't think this will continue, after 9-11 and the shooting in LA with the body armored guys, all of the police dpts got a budget to equip and train every officer with assault weapons that are locked in there cars. That money has since run out, the amount of new weaponry is going to either drop or stay the same. Besides I will bet this clip is 15 years old. atleast the top one.

    • @jfm8561 Don't matter if it's new. An old M14 will ruin your shit right through armor. And with the pentagon giving away old weapons, money isn't an issue. Add in money confiscated from drug runners and such, funding isn't an issue. Unless you're talking about money for patrols to actually do their job. Nah, no money for that. Must buy more toys.

    • @kajidono Couldn't agree more, Every dept in Ca is grossly under staffed, its pretty bad out here for them. Did you see about the city of Stockton going bankrupt and can't even put gas in there patrol cars? Its getting pretty bad out there, and less cops to deal with it.

  • 2nd amendment is to keep government from over-running the citizenry with despotism.

  • Most real problems with cops don't involve weapons anyway. Abuse of power, unlawful search, harassment, false arrest, false testimony, maltreatment of prisoners, coverups... Just the Glock on a cop's hip (and the unionized culture of corruption) generally makes all that possible.

Heavier weapons will generally only come into play when the cops are actually doing their jobs. At which times, we will usually want them better equipped than their adversaries.

    • @NotJim Your post is more insightful than most people will realize. Yep, who was it that said the biggest crimes are so big that most people don't even realize they're happening? The price of gold holding steady at around $1600. The bills that are now so big, yet submitted at the very last minute with "rush" stamped on them, so that not even the politicians bother reading them. The re-interpretation of laws that are "inconvenient" because they used to ensure limitations to go More..

  • "all the rules" lol, yeah sure porky, we know you pigs all follow "all the rules" thats why municipalities pick up the tab for your law breaking all the time. the tax payers are on the hook for their fuck ups, like kicking in wrong doors and shooting innocent people.

  • I find it amazing that people show no concern over how they're policed (governed). They're sure that these policies won't affect them because they're not criminals. Only the bad guys need to be afraid. Well, people should take note that citizens of a federal government are considered to be an enemies of the state. They claimed the state's property (birth certificate), and are using it only for their own gain. My house, my car, my, my, my... It is a trap. Property is the bait. Those who control t More..

  • At a local law enforcement level nothing more than any standard banking truck will do the job. The only purpose of putting surplus military vehicles like this into civilian LE use is to condition the public for a future military State.

  • The woman who thinks its a problem wont think that when something horrible happens that involves her or her loved ones and the police are equipped to handle such an incident. The police chief is right. You have to always be prepared as just because it rarely happens, school shootings for example, does not mean it wont happen again. People need to remember that not ever officer is carrying these weapons, just their standard issue.

    • @kparis what the fuck good are those old rifles at a school shooting? i would love to own them they are awesome rifles but really, in a school? lol ok, i bet when they got them they were for "all the heavily armed drug gangs" they justify their militarization with the flavor of fear of the day. now they need fucking drones! i cant think of a school shooting where the cops shot the perp and saved one life? i cant think of one, but there are so many. can you name one? the perps either ki More..

    • @DirtyUncleBerty if they had them and used them they'd be the police of nothing and no one, which is why the politicians will probably never use nukes either.

    • @Hitler_Is_Amazing Scale it down and a nuke will only level one city block. Scale it down further with advanced technology, and maybe it will fit in an M79 shell that will only level a house. Won't that be convenient.
