HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Police said a man used a backhoe to steal an automatic teller machine early Tuesday morning.
Surveillance video shows the man using the backhoe to remove the ATM from its base at a Bank of America drive-through, located at 850 N. Homestead Blvd.
Police said the backhoe was stolen from a construction site a block away. Officers later found it abandoned and running at the intersection of Northeast Eighth Avenue and Northeast 12th Street.
A gold or tan Ford F-250 that was seen on surveillance video pulling up to the ATM moments before the robbery is believed to have been used as the getaway vehicle.
The ATM contained about $100,000.
