  • Dubai is f***** man, can you imagine the citizens only make 10% of the population? How can it still be an arabian country with 90% foreigners who dont speak arabic, Even the music they put is western, because there are hardly any arabs

  • Some years ago, when I learned of Dubai, I was impressed over how the Emir has taken the initiative to turn Dubai into a world class tourist destination, knowing that the oil industry won't be around too much longer. They have created more man-made shoreline and islands, as well as the tallest, most expensive and luxurious hotels in the world. Sounds like a good plan...except for the fact that the planet is just starting to face a global recession, and the time is coming that money will be prett More..

  • Although Dubai's economy was built on the back of the oil industry, revenues from oil and natural gas currently account for less than 6% of the emirate's revenues.

  • A beautiful water display!

I do hope that Burj Dubai does successfully in the tourism industry. With all the new construction and businesses, they should see the money rolling in. It really has become a foreigner's paradise.

  • Fountains, lights, Italian music, all that "modern" rubbish is not enjoyable the minute you turn your back and you see black Burka ghosts floating all over the sidewalks.

  • Some interesting facts: The fountains at Burj Dubai cost more than $250 million to install. They are 25% larger in scale than those at Bellagio in Las Vegas. Having had the pleasure of visiting both live, I was mildly disappointed by show in Dubai. The sound quality of the music was muffled and sometimes difficult to hear depending where you stand to watch the show. Sounds corny, but I always leave the fountains at Bellagio with a tear in my eye. These didn't. I felt like I was watching the Bell More..
