Actually the worst thing that could happen is one small slip and you have a severed hand...Far more likely though is that it'd burn the crap out of him when the cuffs heat up from the friction.

@Noalias I got a hardened steel wrench stuck on my finger when I was younger. They took a rotating saw to it and while they got the job done I had 3rd degree burns around my whole finger and required skin grafts and almost amputation. This method was way more effective as the heat generated from sawing through the handcuffs would have been excruciating.
