had a neighbor try to help a blue heron on our lake, that had one of the plastic retainers that keep a 6 pack of beverages together (until you pull one drink out at a time)....seems its common for blue heron to try to eat those and get them stuck around their beak, then die.
but the blue heron has lightening fast and deadly accurate aim with its long neck and pointed beak....and it poked one of his eyes out...right after he freed it from the plastic.
