(Syria before the war) With high security comes less freedom thats a fact, unfortunately countries like Syria (with religious freedom and alot of ethnic minorities) needs alot of security because of the unstable region in the middle-east (special thx to US). All the extremists in the middle-east dont want a muslim country to allow religious freedom, they want sharia laws just like Saudiarabia, (now Lybia),Sudan, Oman etc.
