I already pay $50 a month out of my check for Medicare that i can't use (my employer gives a different medical plan). Plenty of people benefit from Medicare so maybe these folks are right, and i would not mind paying an extra $10 a month for universal health-care (except i'm certain the increase would be a Hell of a lot more). It is no secret that the medical and dental profession here is a gigantic racket from beginning to end, you get first-class care but at a huge out-of-pocket cost. I am diabetic and need daily blood sugar test strips for the little machine, if i did not have health plan these strips cost $1 EACH. The cost of the medicine (Metformin) is much higher and having taken it for 8 years, seems almost useless in controlling my condition. Chris Rock said it all: "Ain't no money in the cure! The money's in the treatment!"

Sorry lefties, the system needs fixing, but we don't need to turn America into a socialist communist 3rd world nation to address the problem. YOU LEFTIES share part of the respondsibility, health care at this point is beyond fixing, as is this economy... There are about 70 MILLION people about to need health care, we don't have the money or doctors to provide them with that, no matter what we do at this point...

If the gov were forward looking and smart, about 10 years ago they would have provided programs, advertising, something akin to the DARE program, but to get people to become doctors to care for all of teh old people about to come online. Crying about healthcare now is akin to Nero playing the fiddle when Rome is burning and ROME IS BURNING!!! Libs are so stupid it amazes me...
