Both sides are fucked. The Syrian Army is killing stacks of civilians and the FSA is the "trend du jour" for every Jihadi asshole in the region. I feel bad for the civilians that being killed there, but the Assad regime has been a state sponsor of terrorism for years. Their chickens are coming home to roost.

Well, I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but that is not how it started.
There were close to no "islamic extremists" in syria before the uprising started. And the uprising was not really an uprising, but more like demonstrations for social equality and economic change.
Only after Hamza Al Khateeb and other children got arrested by the Syrian police, then tortured and killed and finally handed over to their parents, thats when people started asking for Assad to go.

Hmm here are the facts.
He's on a rooftop.
Assad soldiers are asking "where is THE weapon"
one of them shots him in the leg and tries to pull him off.
Ok now, he most probably was shooting from his position until he got caught, droped the weapon somewhere or the army forces wouldn't be asking for the weapon, like anyone living in a country where suddenly an extremist would explode killing everyone I understand the Army's position.
