  • maybe it's less about engaging the Taliban and more about engaging insurgents as a whole (who may be operating with or without Taliban aid) that don't want a military's occupying of their country

    seems like every single time the US, French, Australian, or British military come in contact with the enemy in Afghanistan they assume it's The Taliban and every time it happens in Iraq they assume it's Al Qaeda

    maybe it isn't always the Taliban or Al Qaeda. maybe it's other groups -- they do exist, you know

    very very well said.less than 50% of all an afghani resistance there is a taliban movement.i'm surprised ,western man's thinking like that.

    What other "groups" would oppose coalition troups if they are not affiliated with the Taliban or other terrorist cells. The majority are linked & will kill on will. Can't you understand that?
