  • The first suit of armour was like looking at a 15th century version of the T-1000 from Terminator 2!

They must have had stamina like a bull to fight with that amount of weight hanging off them.

  • No wonder they were losing wars to fast riding mongol archers. A battle is not solely based on one on one personal combat, the western romantic concept of heroism lost in face of greater strategy of the fast moving barbarian armies.

When European kings tried to get "glory" Mongol generals stayed in the back and used strategy.

This armor is all thats wrong with that era.

    • @Baron_Kaz Attila* encounter a big resistance (sound familiar) in Gaule then Paris (Sainte Geneviève episode), Orleans, and finally lose close to the city of Troyes.
End of story for the campaign of Gaule (French actual territory).

But apparently u do not know Attila was a pure product of Western culture(mostly Roman and Greek), and his closest advisors were all from such cultures.
Attila was not the barbarian we believe.

*At that time his army was hunno-Germanic.

Anyway in the case of the a More..

    • @Jackson Nope (many sources), to penetrate this kind of armor you need a good perpendicular hit (close to 90°)with a weapon.
This type of armor was to deflect the shots.
I'm pretty sure (according to the few sources we have for major battles) the real enemy wasn't arrows pikes and swords, but more when they fell from their horses, "miséricordes", tactical mistakes and horses, and some types of halberds or elongated masses.
