Trapped Miners Rescued After Four Days

The breaking news that five miners, trapped underground for more than four days in Guizhou province, have all been found alive, and have emerged from the mine.

They're currently said to be receiving medical treatment, after emergency crews FINALLY managed to dig through a collapsed tunnel over 500 meters long.

The rescue attempt HAD been going slowly due to difficult conditions. But about one hour ago, the news broke that the miners had been contacted... with the men knocking on a special tube that was passed through to where they were trapped.

The mine collapse happened on Wednesday afternoon.... and rescuers have been battling against time to reach the men. The mine, located in Pu'an county, has an annual production capacity of 210 thousand tonnes.

An investigation into how the mine collapsed is underway.
