This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made exclusively for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at

Buck Rogers ran over a three year period 1979 to 81 but was only two broadcast seasons, mainly due to a writers strike.
Bit of trivia. They used a lot of props in Buck Rogers from Glen A Larson's other show Battlestar Galactica. The Terran starfighters were actually Ralph McQuarrie's first concept design for the Vipers on Galactica.
The narrators voice for this intro is none other than William Conrad. Best known, to me anyway, as the narrator's voice on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. Though his career was much more comprehensive than that as you can see by the link.
Not many decent copies of this first season intro to be found out there. This copy is the result of a few days work by several people, two friends who are Buck Rogers enthusiasts also helped to restore it to near broadcast quality. Second season intro needs more help than this one but should be a very watchable copy eventually. Enjoy!

I remember this stupid show like a stretch of bad weather. I so wanted to drop-kick that little fubar meebdiddeebeeping robot.
I did like Erin Gray, though. Did you know she was a member of a nudist camp as a little kid?

I have a soft spot for Twiki because it's Mel Blanc's voice and also the character was played by Frank Silla, whom I met at a convention with Sid Haig and Michael Berryman, we all ended up having lunch together. It turns out Frank is a really cool guy, funny as hell. The guy has a quick mind and sharp wit. It's no wonder he was so popular on sets he works on.
The character Twiki was a bit confusing to a lot of people. What with the fact that he was child like, androgynous leanin More..

Very cool... I forgot how corny Buck Rodgers in the 25 Cent was! Love the old retro commercials.

Every show was corny in one aspect or another. Shows today still are, except with a show from today it's easier to suspend disbelief because we more closely associate with it as cultural norms. But in time you'll see them as corny too.
Back in the day when people saw Buck disco dancing they were like "This show is awesome!".
Want me to post a clip of Buck disco dancing lol?

I kind of left out any context to our conversation and that makes it look sort of like you requested some disco. That's my tasteless sense of humor, sorry bout that. Look at the tags lol.

@Rikki_Tikki_Tavi That would have been funny... I actually like disco now for its nostalgia value but I was a rock and roll surfer dude back in that era...
