CH-47D Chinook Hit by Taliban RPG and On Fire
Part of channel(s): Afghanistan (current event)Chinooks was hit by enemy small arms fire and caught fire. This is from
the Apache (call sign Phantom) following our Chinook (call sign
Mustang). We were able to safely land and egress the Chinook. Our
downed aircraft recovery team came out and repaired the aircraft enough
for us to fly it back to Kandahar for full repairs later that evening.

Amazing that they can hit helicopters with RPG's, these Taliban may be simple tribesmen but their fighting skills are second to none.
Forcing the yanks to retreat from their country will be one hell of a sweet victory that's for sure, it means that they have defeated two superpowers in a row (3 if you count their defeat of the Brits 150 years ago).
