The host of a US TV show armed himself with a pitchfork and wore a football helmet as he water-skied on a US river to hunt a high-jumping fish.
Eric Young, a pro-wrestler and host of Animal Planet's Off the Hook: Extreme Catches, was cruising down the river in Illinois to film an episode for his show, which explores extreme and creative ways to catch fish.
His unusual attire was to ward of the Asian carp fish, which are renowned for jumping high out of the water and hitting fisherman.
"Through my other job as a professional wrestler, I've been conditioned to take a blow or two," he told the local Journal Star newspaper.
"But it hurt a little.”
He told ABC News: "It's like a 30 pound bean bag smashing into you at 30 miles an hour… You're well aware you just got hit with a fish."
The show's producers are hoping that episodes like this one will highlight pest problems like the carp, which is threatening to invade the river.
"We've never seen anything like what's going on in the river," the show's executive producer Greg Henry said.

Carp is the number one fresh water food fish in the world. Kinda makes you wonder why the +/- 10 degree "people" missed out on evolution.

@Blklight I've never knowingly eaten carp but I might try it, given the chance. I've eaten catfish which is also a bottom feeder.

Yeah but catfish tastes good lol. I heard that carp still tastes like the bottom of the river by folks who have eaten it before. I won't be trying any anytime soon

@Blklight It's a good thing I never won the Masters. I'd have catfish, turnip greens with pepper sauce, corn bread, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, iced tea and a big ole slice of home grown black diamond watermelon for desert. Fuzzy Zeller just thought he had problems. :-)

LOL! You know what though? I bet Bobby Jones would have NO problem with that meal, he was a southern boy after all. Sounds like a winner to me man, but I would have to throw some cheese grits in there too. Now you got me hungry lol

Has any of you Florida LL'ers ever eaten lion fish? I heard they are like carp and are now being hunted for food down there, so just wondering what they taste like?

Someone is going to kill themselves doing this. Just drive up and down the river wither large nets off the side of the boat. Then, have a fish fry
