There was a made-for-tv movie on a long time ago about a kayaker trying to save a river from "Evil" guys. (Chase scene with black kayaks and everything)
The movie starts with him doing the same thing as this only sliding for over a minute down a hillside then launching of a 5 meter drop into the water.
Much cooler and nowhere near stupid.

why is it called "the Arkansas stupid"? from his accent, he's obviously a yankee and since I'm from Arkansas I've never seen anyone do something "this stupid". sure, we have our resident morons, rednecks and hillbillies, but the stupidest thing we do is stick our fingers in a light socket and holler to the old lady "flip tha switch and I'll let you know if its on or not"
