I think the driving culture in Russia still needs to mature.
Even the other two cars (white Camry sedan + silver station wagon) were trying to beat the tram coming from the left to cross the road.
I would not accelerate like into such a volatile situation in the middle of the crossing, as you never know if sb else is trying to do the same thing from another direction.

Nice, automatic hazard lights.
As for wtf is wrong with them: They dont need to attend a driving school, if they have enough money. Not to mention nobody cares about traffic laws because the police doesnt either. Also their cars are rolling junkyards. Brakes that arent there, steering wheels coming off, etc.
And then theres vodka.
