See the dual pod nose mount camera and IRST (Infrared search and Track system) and gun hole on port side nose.

1989 Jan 4 - BuNo 159610 was one of pair F14A VF-32 USS JFK, that each shot down a Libyan MiG-23. Different references seem to say this was the lead and other say this was wingman. In the incident, the wingman used a sparrow in a head on Mig kill within 6 nml, then the lead used a sidewinder in rear quadrant kill @ about 1.5 nml on the other Mig.
