Close Call: San Diego RV Fire Engulfs Firefighter
This fire occurred in South San Diego off Palm Ave.April 5, 2012. Looks like things are under control when the fuel tank lets loose and a firefighter finds himself surrounded by fire. This is a great video to show us how important PPEs are.

Looks like Magnesium parts like the radiator in the engine compartment torched off.Motorhomes and Mobile Homes have hidden dangers all over the place. Only time I have ever been injured was fighting fires with these things(Twice in the last 5 years). Give me a structure or wildland fire any day.Hope the guy is okay. San Diego has some of the finest Firefighters in the Nation and he was wearing all the PPE correctly. Any word on his status?

I'm no expert fire fighter but have definitely heard of fire fighter foam which not only cools but smothers the flames by depriving it of oxygen. Big mistake made by the Navy sailors on the deck of the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier. They were putting down foam on the flight deck while others were putting down water washing the foam away.
