Nov. 18 - A methane explosion has ripped through a colliery in Ukraine's Donbass coalfield killing dozens of miners and leaving scores missing.

It's one of Ukraine's worst pit accidents. Part of the mine is reported to be still on fire, and thick smoke is hampering the search for 67 miners, missing since the explosion. Prior to this latest accident, 80 miners have been killed this year in Ukraine's dilapidated mines, many of which date from the mid-19th century.
