Surveillance Video Captures Walgreens Armed Robbery

The Broward Sheriff's Office on Monday released surveillance video of a robber who forced two Walgreens employees to the floor and held them at gunpoint for several minutes.

Deputies are asking the public to help find the gunman and an accomplice, both of whom entered the Walgreens store in Oakland Park, FL at 110 E. Prospect Road about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 19. The accomplice roamed the store while the gunman forced an employee to enter the manager's office with him.

He clenched the gun with both hands as he ordered the employee and a manager who was inside the office to get on the floor. Then he forced an employee to rise to his knees and unlock a drawer filled with money.

As the gunman waited for employees to unlock more drawers, a third store worker, who had been unaware of the robbery in progress, approached the office door, saw the robber through a window, and ran away.

The robber grabbed a small bagful of money and fled with his accomplice.

The gunman is described as slender, about 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. He has curly hair and had no facial hair. He wore a blue-and-white baseball hat and a blue shirt. The accomplice is about 6 feet tall, weighs about 170 pounds, and wore a dark shirt and baseball hat.

Officials ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Detective Victor Carrasquillo at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477
