(March 12th, 2012) Japans Sakurajima Volcano erupts. I edited in additional footage to prevent multiple uploads. First clip is from Japans Meteorological Observatory Agency. Second clip is the common mainstream footage circulating and third clip is amateur video, no audio. All taken March 12th and 13th.
(Telegraph) Sakurajima volcano in southern Japan has erupted for a second day, spewing hot
rocks and ash for over a mile around. The Japanese Meteorological Agency said the eruption on Monday was the most forceful since 2009. Foot-wide rocks were expulsed over a mile away, although there was no major damage reported in the vicinity.
Sakurajima volcano, one of Japan's most active volcanoes, is located in the southern prefecture of Kagoshima.

Cool, I've been there. Thats is the only volcano I've been on that truly scared the shit out of me. Was part of a group that got to go near the crater to take soil and air samples. Was really close to it and it decided to rumble and belch just a little smoke from a crack a few feet from where I was standing that was not on the danger no go map. Did the 500 yard sprint in full thermal gear. Jesse Owens would not have been able to catch my ass.
