Part of channel(s): Syria (current event)After meeting with Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held a press conference during which she expressed the Obama administration's dissatisfaction with the current leadership of the Syrian "Opposition" represented by the Syrian National Council (SNC) who have mainly been living outside of Syria for decades. She stated that the SNC should no longer be considered the "visible leader" of the Syrian opposition.
She also expressed her laughable "concern" regarding "disturbing reports" about extremists trying to take over the armed opposition, as if they were not knowledgeable about al-Qaeda's presence in Syria and its direct funding by NATO and its allies. She stated that the administration's current plan is to include within the opposition people living in Syria, a step that the West has been resisting for a while.
