Nov 10, 2010 - PENSACOLA BEACH Oil Washing Up Out of Gulf

November 10, 2010 - Tar balls are actually washing up onto Pensacola Beach, from the Gulf of Mexico. I was told earlier today that heavy oil washing up on Johnson's Beach in Perdido Key, but my work did not take me anywhere near there today. But I was near Pensacola Beach, so I stopped and had a look. And it was quiet evident that the tar balls were coming out of the Gulf; still fresh and gooey.

  • I little plastic shovel and bucket would have come in handy.

Sorry to see your beach this way.

Now only if we could clean our deserts from the trash the drug/human smugglers leave behind.

    • Oh right, I almost forgot that arizona is the shithole armpit of the United States and nobody in their right mind would go there for any reason.
      Thanks for reminding me.

  • Would have been nice if you could have used a ruler or something to give size perspective. Either way, there's certainly a lot of those tar balls washing up. Suppose it's to be expected though.

  • I have a friend in Mississippi; fishermen with boats are hired to look for oil slicks in the gulf. They are given specific coordinate to take water samples. They sail out, collect samples, return them and are paid handsomely. If for any reason a boat owner collects a sample from a non-designated area, they are fired on the spot!

That is right, water samples are being collected from areas KNOWN to be absent of oil so the reports will reflect a cleaner environment. Several boat owners spott More..

  • The well is still leaking. The capping was all a shame to get the public off BP's back. Can you say Catastrophic Blowout and Sea Floor Fracturing??

  • I gave up eating anything from the ocean the very day the oil spill happened. I am determined to live longer than mine enemies.
