Safe Mode: On
Lost Nukes Of The Cold War

12 bombs had been reported to be 'lost' in the 1960's and late 50's.
None have been recovered and may still be 'active' in various parts of
the USA. Some munitions from the same era and even WW2 have made their
way onto beaches and self detonated. The fear still remains in some that
one of the lost nukes may also find their way into the open, washed in
by sea, and detonate.

The question still remains on how many
similar incidents the Russians have had, with no admission to a single
loss during the same era. There could be as many as 50+ assembled and
ready to go atomic bombs worldwide. Unaccounted for and a serious threat
to the human race.

  • The nuclear materials are a concern. They could be recovered by people we don't want to have them. But the idea that a abandoned nuke could self detonate after sitting around for 50 years is ridiculous.

Why does this show say it is in the river when the pilot clearly said he headed out over the ocean to drop it? I would hope they went many miles out over the ocean to drop it. I would think with the bomb being so dense and heavy that it would sink in the mud.

  • It's a plus the US admitted to losing the bombs. With enough plutonium 'lost' to kill every human being this only fuels my opinion that humanity will kill itself sooner or later.

The irony : all was 'for the sake of the country'.

Will we learn from this ? No.

    Good post ! Voted.
