Canada's Last Surviving World War 1 Veteran Turns 109 Today

(July 23. 2009) SPOKANE, Washington - The last surviving Canadian who wore a uniform in the First World War turns 109 today.
John Babcock intends to celebrate in a modest way - lunch at his favourite restaurant in Spokane, Washington, where he now lives. He'll be joined by his family and friends and Veteran Affairs Minister Greg Thompson.
