The October Surprise
Part of channel(s): Yoursay (promoted), United States presidential election 2012 (current event)

Personally, I think we're screwed no matter who wins the election.

This campaign is not so much about the lesser of two evils, as it is about the evil of two lessers.

touche'.......... anyone who thinks the mouthpiece at the head of the class can change dick needs a wake up call.....and a breakdown on how and where their federal tax dollars are spent.....you'll soon discover who really runs things once you gain that knowledge.....yet sadly most Americans are completely ignorant to it and soak up bullshit laced political promises like half off halloween candy.

Nor do I, Ed. All just speculation on my part.

    • @edkemper I think Obama will win. (I'm not saying that's what I want - or that I don't want it) It's the feeling I get from the media I watch. But I really thought John Kerry would win too and I was really wrong on that one.

And yes - the ripple effects on this election will probably have a pretty big effect on most of the world so we're interested here aswell.

  • Not a game changer. I'm mostly impressed by the way Christie puts the people of his state above party politics. He's a class act and this makes a big contrast to those boobs, Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco, when Katrina chewed up Louisiana a few years back.

Honestly John, I am seeing Christie in a whole new light... and not because he may have inadvertently thrown Romney under the bus.

As an independent, I am looking for exactly the kind of individual who can step away from partisan politics and do his damn job without regards to how it may effect them in the next election.

I would actually like to see Christie run in 2016... whether Romney is President or not.

  • Hey look at this list of Presidents by occupation. The only presidents who were listed as businessmen led us into economic disaster. (R)Herbert Hoover = was an invester = The Great Depression. (R)G.W. Bush was a buisnessman = The Great Bush Recession. (R)H.W. Bush = was a buisnessman as well and he had an awfull ebonomic record with high unemplyment and deficit. Here's a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States_by_occupation

  • Great your say EH. Truly hope Christie runs next election.
He tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

  • I don't think Gov. Christie is your average politician.

Here he is, just being himself:

  • It is because of Ron Paul that got me interested into politics and the future of my country and to that I will let you know I will be voting for Romney in just under an hour from now.

  • Christie simply said fug the politics & is doing "real" important things ... I dug it........... or , I dig it.

    Posted Nov-1-2012 By

  • The Christie thing is a total distraction and a non-issue. Obama is the president right now, there was a disaster that mainly affects New Jersey. I have no idea why the media is talking about Christie / Obama like it actually means anything. You think the president is going to approve funds to get help if Christy is running around trashing the president due to his politics? I wouldn't if I were the president. The only thing that would make this non-issue an issue is if the president said he *won More..

    • @jeru I wonder? Can Obama change his VP pick at this point in time? Can he DUMP Biden, and choose Christie as a VP pick??

      Posted Nov-1-2012 By

    • @jeru It matters because Romney trashed FEMA earlier, so he seems to be on the side of not assisting in an emergency. Someone flipped because of Sandy, setting the precedent.

Also, I had forgotten about Benghazi just now, because of Sandy. It is an event that is much more palpable than Benghazi, and it hapened AFTER, which really does matter. I am not talking about what matters in a NORMATIVE sense. I mean that it matters for public perception.

In a normative sense, the president just did wh More..

    • @wellybub I don't mind talking about the relief going on in New Jersey. And you're right, Obama has only one choice right now. I do however mind Republicans and Democrats making this all about Chris Christie. You can't deny, thats what they're both currently doing. Compared to other things, Chris Christie really is a non-issue and a distraction.

You'll have to excuse me if I think Romney flip-flopping on FEMA is another non-issue though. Both Romney and Obama flip-flopped their entire careers t More..

  • "the president shall not be the shiniest of two turds"

and these two are both turds that need to be flushed.......if they didn't earn your vote don't give it, voting out of spite or voting for the "lesser of two evils" is why this country is like it is and why there are political garbage commercials on every single commercial break of television, I have not seen product advertisement for 3 months.....we could of wiped out the national debt with what the super packs have spe More..
