Safe Mode: On
London in daylight

It's worth learning how to hold the camera the right way up. Had about three goes to get the first bit, one take for the second bit after some little practice runs.

  • Nice camera work indeed. It's worth chucking out the potato camera, reading the new camera's manual and having a couple of practice runs to get it right because you won't forget in the future. I still have to spend a day merging my music with a video and overlaying titles and stuff. I have a specific one in mind if I can find the video.

For me, London's too busy/crowded but I made a boatload riding off their coattails last year with the Royals and the Olympics so I'm FAR from complaining.

    OK, More..

That was a Samsung Galaxy phone.

First shot, keep arms rigid, use hips as a tripod.

Second shot, sitting on a bench with the camera in my lap. Slowly tilt up , control breathing.

Never even knew the Moon or the trees where there - just trying to get the statue out of shot at the end.

I think it's an amazing piece of luck to get that shot as it is. :-)

  • From that angle, you don't see that 70 % of the people are black or brown.

  • Went on the Thames cruise in 2007 and as we passed the customs and excise building where they confiscate drugs and tobacco the guide pointed out the big chimney from the furnace where they are supposed to burn all the goods and he hasn't seen any smoke coming from it in the years he has worked on the cruises. Strange.

  • London is great, unless you have to pay rent there

  • What was the camera(s)? There seems to be a difference in image quality between the first scene and the second.

My missus has got a new EOS 650D that I think will make very good movies if she ever lets me use it :-( I saw the EOS series being used to make very high quality HD movies at a trade show. They can have unlimited lenses and you can buy body harnesses and steadycam mounts for them

I did have an EOS but then got the Sony NEX series with the multi lens kit, pancake lens wide angle, 18-55 lens, 18-200, It takes blue ray quality vids as well as cool shots on just about any setting. It has one of the biggest senors in it so it can take shots in low light, have used it for everything from weddings (a niece) fast shots, stills, black and whites, long distances and always been happy with the end result - video and all, got into it as a new hobby,,,I`m not as bad as I More..

The LL player seems jittery as hell, and doesn't recognize the HD on this.

Same camera on both scenes - Galaxy Ace 2, with a built-in phone.

First scene mid afternoon, second scene early morning. No color corrections applied to either.

So it's a $200 phonecam and some practice beforehand.
