Obamacare is not what it seems. Look at history, we have been fighting against "the state" for a long time. Wake up, again, America!

  • Health care is too expensive, so the Obama administration is putting high-powered corporate lawyers in charge of making it cheaper. (This is what I always do when I want to spend less money — hire lawyers from Yale.) If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it's free.

  • Is the US the only developed country left in the world without evil socialized medicine?

  • Ive lived in Germany, France and a couple of other European countries and they all have universal medicine and its quite wonderful. People love it , the care is great. People are actually much healthier in Europe, skinnier, they live long and have been preventive medicine.

For most of the civilized world socialized medicine is the norm and people are healthy and happy. Not sure why its so scary for people. I mean if you dont want it you can still buy extra insurance in the free market. But i More..

    • @Jim Accardi
If you are seriously ill it is very good. If there is a non emergency procedure that you need (e.g. Knee replacement) it can take longer than it would privately. Most people with money in the UK will have some level of private medical cover as well, so that if they need a non urgent procedure they will be able to have it done sooner and in a more luxurious environment. This insurance will usually cost far less than what people pay in the US though
Regardless of how rich you are, if More..

    • @mike_oxslong Nationalized health can be a good thing, as you described. Better than private insurance, but I've seen both the advantage and disadvantage of insurance here. You have no idea. What I'm afraid of here, is the nationalized plan going into effect now is nothing more than a socialist ploy to control us more, if not another way of stripping away this countries economy. Our government doesn't have a good track record and it is corrupt. We need to strip away the government instead.

  • Retarded. I enjoy our socialized medicine in Canada, it's never let me, my friends, or my family down.

  • Back in February my 80 year old mother fell & broke her hip. She was in hospital within 30 minutes, and in the operating theatre having her hip replaced the same day. In total she was in hospital for just under 2 weeks. When she was back home she received 3 home visits every day for the following 3 months, to make sure she was coping. Hows that for 'Socialised' care? And, for the benefit of our American friends, all that cost her £0.00 at the point of use. And before you all start screaming More..

  • This is back when most companies provided healthcare insurance and retirements.A job was stable,The average home cost the average annual wage, one person worked in the household not two and the automobile cost a fraction of what it does now.Corporations and Banks got greedy and destroyed a good thing.

  • Another thing socialized state healthcare does is take the Christian motive out of the caregivers. In fact, they police it out. So what you have left is nurses and nurse's aids treating patients like they are garbage and being angry they have to take care of this garbage in the first place. Thus in England you will hear many incidents of patients dying of thirst in hospitals and how the nurses all told them to f*ck off with their complaining as they took numerous breaks.

    • @Trey_4_life Translation: You've stung me with that observation. I live in a socialist media bubble, and we don't hear such things in the normal course of our days. Ouch. Stop disturbing my world with truth.

    • @Roll1981 I agree with Trey. The Brits have one of the best health care systems in the world. I lived there for 3 years. Sure, you may have to wait for non-critical procedures. Their drawback, those poor blokes are taxed through the nose.

    • @Jim Accardi "The United States Postal Service (USPS), also known as the Post Office and U.S. Mail, is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for providing postal service in the United States. It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution." - Wikipedia
