Is it just me, or does all Mexican music sound like a wind-up clown toy?

As a native New Mexican I can honestly say I love Hispanic (actually in NM case its more Spanish) culture. I've never felt more welcomed and enjoy hanging out with people that acknowledge courtesy and with people that are quick to return respect that is given. That being said all of us wonder what the hell that vid was and why it so closely resembles a polka...

@Phoenix446
Silver City New Mexico , great Spanish community there.
A lot of old Spanish Land Grant family's still thriving in New Mexico.
Because historically there was a great German influence in Mexico , Central and South America , as well as the USA.

@RustRocket Yes~ most people in the US do not know that Mexico is almost as racially mixed as the USA. The reason being is that only the darker skinned Indios Chuntis come here mostly illegal. The US mainly gets Mexico's fringe poverty.

So, it's acceptable to say 'Gringo'...derogatory slang for Whites. Yet, derogatory slang for other ethnicities will get censored and you get an Infraction?

Gringo does not mean 'white,' it is closer to 'outsider' or 'foreigner.'
In December when a lot of Mexicans from Guadalajara come to the beach for vacation, they are referred to as gringos by the locals...

@Scrubby001
The term Gringo has several origins . One it was said , is that when the US army invaded Mexico , they wore green uniforms , so the term green go , ment green go home!

Seeing as the word gringo has been used to describe foreigners in parts of Spain since well before 1800, I seriously doubt the validity of your proposal.
Most research into the etymology of the word suggests it comes from 'griego' which means Greek.

@RustRocket
It also had to do with the money that Americans used in Mexico , it was green , so anyone using the US dollar was considered Gringo.
This is a debatable subject , there are several versions of the origin of the term Gringo!
Depends on who you ask!

@Scrubby001 I can look up what Webster says about the word too, not that I needed to. It's a derogatory slang word for Whites. Period. I've been around enough Hispanics in the US to know this without question.

@The_Illuminati ...you're lying, Mexico is your true love and you hate conservatives cause you think they are against Mexicans. People aren't against Mexicans per se'- it has more to do with the disrespect they have towards the US. And you know it!

@ScareCity I wouldn't agree with that. All the time I was growing up Mexicans (Yes, even the illegals) were an integral part of American culture. In fact my Dad used to say we could not even survive as a capitalist society without their help. Nowadays, we have forgotten how close we were to the Mexican people and have forsaken them. That's our evil not theirs. I am a conservative and do not support the rightwings stances against the Mexican people. I consider what we are doing to the Mexicans a More..

@Anonyville Geee? I grew up with Mexicans as well. In-fact, my family is mixed- we have the Sanchez, Torres, and Bacas. My experience was quite different. Most of the cities I grew up in initially had a white population and only attracted Hispanics families when the neighborhood age reached a state of decline 50-75yrs. In the State of California, any City you can find with a Hispanic population saturation above 80% is likely a sanctuary city(lawlessness), high crime index, and currently or on More..

@ScareCity My Avatar denotes our fight with Los Zetas. Nothing more than that. I am Native born American. I grew up in Arizona and Kansas. Spent adult years on the East Coast. I'm old enough to remember before Americans got stupid about Mexicans. We used to hire them constantly with absolutely no indignation for them being here. Somewhere along the line we turncoated. I have never agreed with it and still don't. If they break the law deport their arse back but if they are decent then we should n More..
