Death Wish 3 stunt recreatedA stuntman who has starred in James Bond, Superman and Indiana Jones films has successfully performed a fiery jump which almost killed him 26 years ago. In 1985 Rocky Taylor broke his pelvis while filming Death Wish 3 - which featured Charles Bronson as vigilante Paul Kersey - when a stunt went wrong.
With a building on fire, the Briton leapt without knowing what lay beneath - and he tumbled onto concrete, causing him extensive injuries.
But in his recreated stunt, the 64-year-old jumped from the same height on a specially erected flaming platform at London's Battersea Power Station.
A crowd, which included many of Taylor's friends and family, gave the stuntman a countdown before he jumped and battled with the blazing tower.
Once he was dug out of the cardboard boxes which broke his fall, he waved to the audience and look relieved to have banished his old demons.
Speaking to Sky's Alistair Bunkall, an emotional Taylor said: "It went very well.
"It was a bit daunting when I got up there on the platform waiting and waiting - that's the horrible part about every stunt.
"When I got up there I was not on the mark, so I was a bit panicky. I realised that the explosions were going to go off so I had to go!
"It all went well in the end and I am just happy to be going home by my own means and not in an ambulance this time!"
Taylor is performing a number of stunts to convince millions more people to leave a gift to charity in their wills.
The organisation Remember A Charity In Your Will said just a 4% increase in gifts left in wills would raise an additional £1bn a year for good causes.
