  • Biggest winner of these Olympics has been London itself, the greatest city on planet earth. Closely followed by Cardiff, of course!

    • @ccfc

And what part of London is British these days??

More a Multicultural hell hole that the rest of the UK is paying for.

    • @Patrick Hodgins It is multicultural and so is a lot of the uk now but I wouldn't say London is a hellhole .the city has much to offer and is a huge financial center

    • @Patrick Hodgins Dude, read some history for christ sake. London has always always been multi-cultural.

  • Never doubted that all! Long live the UK!

  • Load of shit. The country is divided as ever. Where I live, right up north, the Olympics could be in another country for all we care. It's a London south thing.

    • @truebrit49 I only live 50 miles away in Canterbury, but i've been totally untouched by anything Olympic. It's certainly not a "southern/London thing". I've watched most of the events I wanted via BBC and I think it has been absolutely superb.

On the other hand, the lame-arse xbox generation wont ever like it.

  • What a load of shite.

Need I mention the company G4S???

I'm sure the rest of the UK couldn't give a fuck about the 'Mc'Olympics.

So the question is can the McOlympics solve the UKs illegal immigrants problems???

  • It's gonna be a while before things turn around .uk s main trading partners are in deep shit .china has stolen most of the manufacturing jobs .you cant rely on consumer spending when the consumers have no jobs .i just read my local newspaper from Cheshire n it said a new sofa store opened and they had 2134 applicants for 15 jobs .its a new world and we need to be more aggressive in protecting our posistion cos I don't want all the wealth we built up going to china ,India and brazil

  • What is this guy doing? The 100m butterfly? We're doing fine in Liphook. We're centrally located in the middle of fucking nowhere from anything that is considered significant.

  • I think that the London Olympics has shown the world the absurd nature, and complete irrelevance state that the games have evolved to.
The Olympics is now a confused collection of odd sports that few people actually play, and fewer people really give a crap about, delivered in the most processed and packaged way, in order to sell soap to viewers in home countries.

Any real meaning or spirit of fair play and genuine sportsmanship has long dissipated. The Olympics has morphed into a bloated mons More..

  • Gotta admit that the UK are the per-capita medal champs of these Olympics.
    Congrats.

    • @CargeLock

Everytime I watch it's like half the seats are empty.

    • @fusselkater LoL that was the first couple of days in lesser events...the article is even dated 30th july. What they didn't tell you was that in fact the olympics all but sold out, empty few seats in lesser events in the first couple of days or not. ALL of the coverage i've watched (and i've watched a lot) hasn't had any, in fact it's been jam packed to the rafters.

  • The only thing that bugs me is. On the closing of the olympics, they announce everything in french first. Ha! No way would the french put English first if it was in france. What idiot thought that one up ?
