  • He should press full right rudder and and make nose down and land and if the runway is not enough, he should land 30 degrees to the right or left, that's what Airlaw says.

  • They couldn't have landed without climbing and then turning around. The plane is easily able to fly without power from one engine. The problem was they didn't know that the whole engine had been ripped off and damaged the hydraulics.

Yea right the plane is easly able to fly without power from one engine if his airspeed above 200 KTS, but his airspeed was 150kts on take off , that's mean his speed was above stalling speed about 10kts so if he make a turn his stalling speed wi More..

  • the irony is that these maintenance operations are designed to restrict mishap due to mechanical failure. In quite a few cases, like this, they have been the cause.

  • Wow - we have professionals here. Quit easy sitting with pants in front of the PC making comments about the pilots. With sincere sympathy to the passengers and the crew.

  • This is an obvious conspiracy, hatched from the deepest regions of Conspiracy Central. Ed and Elaine Brown were suppose to be on this flight, the NWO wanted to deprive the world of the only two people to stand up to the NWO.

  • All the armchair pilots here should read the NTSB accident reports before posting. The key points are in this video. They were beyond the point of safe abort when they lost the engine. It ripped out hydraulic and electrical connections that resulted in the pilot's inability to know the true state of the aircraft. They probably didn't even know they had physically lost an engine.

The pilots probably took all corrective actions they knew, unfortunately they weren't the right ones for the st More..

  • What happened was American Airlines went on the cheap with the DC-10. They opted to save a couple thousand dollars and not have a shaker stick for the copilot. The the electrical systems on the pilot's side was wiped out. If the copilot had a shaker stick, he would have realized what was happening, after all he was controlling the plane. The plane did not crash because of losing an engine or all the hydraulics. It crashed because the pilots stalled it.

  • I remember that crash, what a mess. The two 747s that collided over the airstrip in the Canary Islands was one hell of a disaster, too! RIP all of them!

  • Flight 191... rings a bell? Is this the plane they took parts from that gave 'omens' of disaster to be averted?
