Citizens retrieve victims of the Antonov Trans-Air Congo, crash in Pointe-Noire, March 22nd, '11

The cargo plane crashed in a residential area of Congo-Brazzaville's economic capital, Pointe-Noire, killing at least 16 people.
The Antonov plane, operated by Trans Air Congo, crashed as it was trying to land, according to civil aviation agency head Michel Ambende.
The impact destroyed around a dozen houses in a working-class area of the port city and caused a fire that residents said lasted for hours.
The crash is reported to have claimed 23 lives, four Russian crew members, five passengers and 14 residents of the city that is home to roughly one million inhabitants.

    • Race has nothing to do with it. The way they're handling those bodies is the same as the pit master would handle his meat at my local BBQ joint. They just ripped the arm off one of them. :-o C'mon...you're not saving anyone...just let them cool down & give them proper handling.

  • The problem with Africa, and other such places, is you don't understand how to handle a scene like this. The first thing you do is get the proper authorities on scene to establish a perimeter so your kids don't see the carnage and so every tom, dick and harry can't stand in your way as you go about your work. Second, have some kind of leadership structure where one leader gives calm, clear direction to designated rescue personnel. Show some decorum, and go about your business with professionalis More..
