@fookalah Comforting & communication is the first step in distracting a person to lower heart rate, therefore calming the accident victim.
Her leg is in a really shit state and yes, a tourniquet needs applied as it's a life saving measure.
I'd say amputation at the knee is her best chance of survival as no amount of pins and plates will fix the damage without the risk of repeated infection which is often common with compound fractures, but this is not your average compound fracture, crush More..
