Does welfare help the poor, or enable them to avoid dealing with the consequences of their clearly demonstrated habitual preference towards the present, at the expense of the future?
Does the warfare state/constant intervention help discourage terrorism? Is it possible that propping up, arming, funding, and training military/religious sects/dictators and then later violently disposing them resulting in hundreds and thousands of casualties might actually foster anti American sentiment?
