Good for him.. nothing wrong with this at all.
Some of the "I like Dick' comments would pretty much get him short air time, just about everywhere.
But the rest of it is great. People should think like this.
I had a couple of freinds that visited Finland. They told me that they all support Finish business FIRST,, and proudly. They would rather buy a product from Finland than anywhere else. I think it's a good way to think.

Unknown to people outside of Australia, Dick Smith owns a nation wide franchise of electronic goods shops. This is what has enabled him to make these grocery products.
The irony is that his message to buy his grocery products because they are made entirely in Australia and entirely with Australia ingredients. The gist of his message is: Buying Australian will keep the profits and jobs in Australia.
YET, most of the items sold in his electronics franchises are imported from Overseas.
