Possibly the detonator is remote controlled but there is still a driver?
It would really suck if the driver didn't know what was going to happen.
I've heard of another case where someone is asked to wear a suicide vest 'to carry it through a checkpoint to the real bomber'. Fortunately the remote control failed.

Your right, common tactic, in the 80's the IRA kidnapped some poor guy and made him 'deliver' a car to some guy...blew up at checkpoint.
The other case was a Palestinian kid forced by jihadi arseholes.

I read up on the IRA cases.
Jeez! That was brutal. One guy got 'volunteered' simply because he served petrol to RUC members.
It turns out the IRA plan was a serious own-goal as public revulsion set in.
The bomb vest I was thinking of was a woman conned by a relative (mother-in-law?) to carry the vest across Israeli security lines.

It's no coincidence that the civil part of this war was thrown in the crapper the second these clowns set up shop in Syria. @BrooklynJAH not really, you see you can use Islam to justify whatever you do specially when you think you are right and your cause is just, but each case is different in its own politics and details, iraq and Afghanistan were occupied which got people involved in resistance and some took it too far under the umbrella of Islam, in Syria the people are fighting a dictator who did not hesitate to kill his own people, some will be radical extremest and some will not be, not all of them are AL-Qaida More..
