This is a moving update from Nico Pitney.
8:53 PM ET -- "Sister, have a short sleep, your last dream be sweet."
Yesterday we printed a touching letter from an Iranian woman that began with these ominous lines: "I will participate in the demonstrations tomorrow. Maybe they will turn violent. Maybe I will be one of the people who is going to get killed..."
Tonight, she posted a second letter, passed along and translated by two readers. She writes about her "sister" in this cause who was killed today, referring to Neda.
Yesterday I wrote a note, with the subject line "tomorrow is a great day perhaps tomorrow I'll be killed." I'm here to let you know I'm alive but my sister was killed...
I'm here to tell you my sister died while in her father's hands
I'm here to tell you my sister had big dreams...
I'm here to tell you my sister who died was a decent person... and like me yearned for a day when her hair would be swept by the wind... and like me read "Forough" [Forough Farrokhzad]... and longed to live free and equal... and she longed to hold her head up and announce, "I'm Iranian"... and she longed to one day fall in love to a man with a shaggy hair... and she longed for a daughter to braid her hair and sing lullaby by her crib...
my sister died from not having life... my sister died as injustice has no end... my sister died since she loved life too much... and my sister died since she lovingly cared for people...
my loving sister, I wish you had closed your eyes when your time had come... the very end of your last glance burns my soul....
sister have a short sleep. your last dream be sweet.

I just hope the Iranian people never give up. So many killed and injured. You must not stop until Khamenei and Ahmadinejad are out of power.

yeah yeah use the death of a young girl who you also recorded on camera to show the world.
as i was seeing her face the girl was in paina and certainly was worrid about being filmed, but no the gay demonstrations are worth filming a dead girl and passing the link for people to watch.
you guy sare sick, nimroo why dont you go and get shot and videotape yourself and put it on liveleak.

there's a problem, she was an observer yesterday, she wasn't taking part in the demonstration... it was already a dangerous situation, and I'm not trying to belittle her, but it might have been better if she wasn't so close to the action.
I'm sad for the families loss, it makes me upset when any girl dies.

Heartbreaking. Look in the mirror people. Do you have what it takes to make this world a better place like this child tried (and probably has)? The weak will standardize into a bizarre culture of obnoxious imbeciles, spewing an infinite amounts of self gratifying aversion. Where have the children gone who were meant to stand up and make the difference? Why won't YOU make a difference?

Nimrooo. Thanks for posting this. I was on the other thread yesterday. Judgeing by the comments posted there, many are just ignorant and clueless.
We ( the US ) cannot and should not get involved other than giving moral support. This fight is for the people of iran to decide. It's your country and your future.
Neda is a hero, she gave her life because she ( and others ) saw a chance for freedom. She will not be forgotten.
Perhaps we are seeing history in the makeing and the birth of a free More..
