One man, Mohammed Farah, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was found gunned down in an alley way after being shot in the head.

Residents of Fishermead Boulevard say they heard a dozen shots ring out near an off-license just after 10pm.

A second man, 18, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but Thames Valley police confirmed he had died this afternoon.

Both men were of Somalian descent.

A major investigation is underway, however friends of Mohammed say it's possible a London gang is responsible for carrying out the bloodshed.

It is said he was running away from his assailant at the time.

Mohammed's uncle Rashid Hirad also told Sky News his nephew had feared for his life.

Mohammed's tearful mother visited the scene flanked by family and friends, while four forensic officers from Thames Valley major crime squad poured over the evidence left in the street.

Detective Superintendent Rob Mason, who is heading up the investigation, confirmed the killing earlier today but moved to calm people living in the community.

'I can confirm that one man has died from his injuries and that another has been injured in the incident,' he said.

'A large area of Fishermead is currently sealed off while officers carry out investigations and protect the scene.

'I appreciate that residents will feel concerned about this incident. However, there is a large and highly visible police presence in the area.'
