At least he's learning something useful to do with joystick controls instead of sitting in front of a video game.
It's not uncommon to see 10 year old kids driving farm tractors around my area. Farm kids grow up with heavy equipment and respect it.

It would be hard for him to hurt himself, everyone else could get seriously broken. Glad nothin bad happened and the kid obviously had a blast, but, not a good idea.
