    • @kiska May they rest in peace. Cannot imagine losing so many family members to a entity that both gives but takes lives. Must be rough.

    • @Neo Genesis I appreciate your skepticism....it is a good trait to have when surrounded by, and to ferret out, so much BS.

Yet, I can assure you, my man Kiska is forthright in his honesty in speaking of he and his family's history with the sea.

      Glad you made it, Kiska.

      Peace.

  • The Captain went down but his crew lived. An article says if the Captain hadnt called that mayday and given the coordinates all would have gone down. He died for his crew.

  • The life of a merchant sailor is hard and thankless.
This video is appropriately timed. Seven sailors lost their lives the North Sea last week when their ship collided with another. It barely gets a mention in any news outlet, despite what they do being an invaluable service. Have a look around your house, 95% of the stuff in it is from overseas. 90% of the stuff in your local supermarket is brought in by ship, the petrol in your car is brought in by ship, all your consumer electronics are brou More..

  • This video reminds of my favourite uncle,, good old "Uncle Sloppy" He was quite the merchant seaman in his day.
When he was 8 years old a rowboat he was in turned over nearly drowing him and his cousin Edgar.
He survived a collision during his first voyage in 1918 and spent the night clinging to a life jacket. During WWII, his ship was sunk by a German torpedo and he survived dispite being covered in fuel. He was on deck as a watchman during the collision of the Adria Dorea, (he got re More..

  • we know every little about her but she is extremely bi-polar and violent, many a man disappears and she remains silent. we dont respect her and use her for our own pleasure, so she takes and keeps and wants all the treasure. we screw her sister and cousin the sky and outer space, while she'll let just about anyone sail on her face, she has taken our son's, uncles, fathers and mothers too, but oh you dirty slut we love you!

  • That's the captain you hear in the beginning (Robert Royer) - he was the only one of the four crew to die in the sinking of this vessel.

  • good video. one point of irritation: when you are fighting for your life and the help on the other end wants you to fill out a questionnaire and then confirm all of your answers again.

    • @mytwocents
Sound and video are from two different continents: All the ships and ligthouse are French, Bretagne. The lighthouse is propably Ar-Men. The fishing vessel is Veronika (GV555232) from Guilvinec.
The coastguard ship is the modern Abeille Bourbon, this ship guards the coasts of Bretagne and Normandie and is also a high sea tug and capabel in saving ships, not only crew.

I couldn't identify the navy ship, but it seems an older fregat, propably also French.
Nort Sea and Atlantic co More..

  • Though it's of little comfort to them, they were not lost at sea. They returned to the sea whence they ultimately came.
