A German champion paraglider said she did not believe she would survive when she was lifted higher than Mount Everest by a thunderstorm that killed a Chinese paraglider in eastern Australia. This happened a couple of weeks ago.

This video isn't from this particular incident but still illustrates the danger of getting caught in a so called Cumulonimbus cloud quite beautifully.

This pilot deliberately lets himself be "sucked up" by the cloud. The strong winds inside of CB-Clouds probably gave him a good shakin'.

Amazing, how much ice there is on him and still, his paraglider continues to fly.
