This is a classic example of going were you are looking. He fixated on the truck and that is were he went. Always look were you want to go. BTW I own three Harleys and a BSA and have ridden on the road for 43 years and off road before that, I've learned that lesson the hard way, not as hard as that.

@Toad490 Actually he was fixated on merging in front of the vehicle filming him. That took away from his situational awareness and he veered toward the center line of a curve that the truck driver was cutting into. Dude was just bad at paying attention. Probably stubbed a lot of toes before this accident.

@Toad490 Amen. This guy should have not been on a bike yet. I took a safety course, to save on insurance, and the one thing they kept stressing was always look through your curves because your bike will go where your eyes go. I think he panicked and it cost him.

@lethe Seems like it. Even if not, the biker sure as hell was one -- as he put on his signal to change lanes and check to see if the lane was clear he apparently drifted over the yellow line a tad and clipped the oncoming truck. That's pretty dumbass to me.
If he survived after losing a leg and not bleeding out, he's one lucky dumbass because a few more inches to the left he'd be a grille ornament on that truck.
