Boycott FedEx

Dean Henderson’s career with FedEx ended abruptly when a reckless driver plowed into his company truck and mangled his leg. His doctor will decide this week if it needs to be amputated.

No longer able to drive, stripped of value in our commodity culture, he was tossed aside by the company. He became human refuse. He spends most of his days, because of the swelling and the pain, with his leg raised on a recliner in the tiny apartment in Fairfax, Va., he shares with his stepsister. He struggles without an income and medical insurance, and he fears his future.

Henderson is not alone. Workers in our corporate state earn little when they work—Henderson made $18 an hour—and they are abandoned when they can no longer contribute to corporate profits. It is the ethic of the free market. It is the cost of unfettered capitalism. And it is plun

  • None of this is Fedex's fault either. Why should they carry you when you offer nothing in return? Just sue the driver who hit you, since that is the at-fault party, and get on with your life.

  • Fact#1. elected officials are put in place by the majority to serve the interests of the majority. (in theory)
Fact#2. By majority They mean "where the majority of the money is", meaning that a man with 20$ is worth 2 men with 10$
Fact#3. A corporation with tens of millions is likely worth more than the total political/monetary value of it's employees, their families, neighbors, friends, and so on..
Do you get where i'm going with this?

  • As an Ex FedEx worker I attest that FedEx blows. It hires the crappiest cheapest labor it can find (I was hired on the spot without references), treats them like shit, and then acts suprised when packages get stolen or busted. Union or no union or whatever, FedEx blows plain and simple.

  • even though he had a good paying job he did not have access to health care!, the fact is if you have the money you can have access to the best care in the world, proves further its not the care its the system that has failed, Ill become a repub if they have the answer to that, instead of always doing nothing for the system as long as it is working for them-its a trap because it will show they dont want to make the system work for the average person like this guy!.

  • UPS is a Union workplace, FedEx isn't.

  • FedEx is awesome, screw Unions and the media who is beholden to them and the Democrat party.

The reason you libs hate them is because FedEx is truly an American success story, and we know how you hate America, Capitalism and Freedom

    • what are you talking about? Production of what?

You can choose to work wherever you want, your free to insure yourself against disability, this is America, only you are responsible for yourself. We need to quit treating businesses and government as a nanny.

Also, Businesses don't exist for the purpose of providing jobs, they exist to make money.

    • Ask someone that lived in the Soviet system how that worked for them. If your not old enough to remember, they were always short of everything.

The article goes to extremes in painting conservative values as inhumane and evil, stating that a move to conservatizm will lead to revokation of basic rights and civil liberties. *****, kike, wop, mick, etc., who the hell cares, it's words. Don't you people know "Sticks and stones"? Oh, sorry, I've probably really upset some snivelling litt More..
