Idiot canadians, you claim you're at the forefront of marijuana legalization but the fact of the matter is your laws are more geared for potheads than medical pateients. California along with other US states are actually more advanced towards providing legal weed to legal patients.
LOL at the government giving citizens schwag, enjoy your socialized healthcare!

LOL where do you get your info. At least the appointed medical provider's here don't get raided by the fed every 2 weeks and our consumer's don't get 5 years for a joint.
The medical provider's in Canada take there job's very seriously, and do a damn good one at that. Instead of making lollipops and crap to sell at overinflated prices, we are providing top quality at affordable prices.

You mean gangs and organized sells the marijuana in "affordable" prices (while avoiding paying any taxes and fueling crime). I still don't see 1 legit dispensary. Even Marc Emery got busted for selling seeds, its pathetic. Typical libtard economy, keep it illegal so the criminals can profit.

Thanks to the current regressive American Neo-con loving Conservative government our medical and non-medical marijuana laws and drug laws in general are slowly regressing to the state that America's were in back in the mid to late 90's.
A little while back the Con's proposed mandatory minimum sentences for drug offences. Leave it to a Conservative government to wait until a system has proven to not work and is being dismantled/reformed in a neighboring country to propose implementing it here.
Vote Conservative - regression and retardation are fun!
*note - I'm referring to the Harper led CPC, not conservatives in general.
When you go to the Right don't be surprised if society ends up being wronged. But that can be fixed soon, hopefully.
I'm fiscally conservative so I supported Harper through most of his time in the PMO due to the economic issues, but his recent regression in social and judicial policies has sealed it for me - I'll vote for a broken refrigerator before I vote for Harper ever again.
Even Layton and his New Dingbat Party are a better option than Harper and the CPC now, and that's a downright scary thought to me(and a lot of other Canadians too no doubt).

Marc Emery was arrested by the United States for selling seeds online without ever setting foot in the U.S for any business related activities - the Canadian government was sending medical marijuana patients and growers to his shop to buy seeds at the time.
I know people like you don't like to let facts get in the way of speaking any dribble that comes into your mind, but at least stop and try to think for 1 second or more before posting and making yourself look like a total fool.
Not that I mind since I do like to laugh, but I'd have thought you'd have some pride and would not want to embarrass yourself so much.

I'm well aware of Ron Paul, and Milton Friedman. But neither of the Conservative movements that have power in either of our country's has anything to do with true conservatism.

On the subject of Milton Friedman I'd to like to just note that he was a truly great man and one of the greatest if not the single greatest economist of the 20th century, may he rest in peace.
A true libertarian and inspiring advocate of freedom, even on the issues I disagree with him on I have to respect his positions for making sense and being set on a solid base that always provides for a good debate.
If only the Conservative movement in America had been led by him rather than being hijacked by the Christian Right and Neocons...
Milton Friedman was a member of LEAP at the time of his passing and spoke out against drug prohibition for most of his life.
Do you know one of the top reasons he was against it?
Because he was a great economist. He was an economist who understood that when you arrest people and throw them in prison and destroy their lives for trying to uphold their freedom to have control over their own bodies and minds and you remove them from the productive section of society you are eliminating a part of your economy in the process.
That's one person who is no longer working and making money and going out and spending that money and adding to the economic stability and/or growth of your nation.
When you do it at the rate that the U.S does that's millions of small pieces of the economy being destroyed in the name of stopping people from having that freedom to decide for themselves(the freedom that applies to alcohol, tobacco and firearms in the U.S today).
All those small pieces add up, especially during a time of large scale economic recession.
When the money that is involved in the drug market and which also contributes greatly to the economy(bling bling is expensive) is added into the mix it shows how drug prohibition just doesn't make economic sense.
And don't forget that with the way things are in the U.S many of those with drug convictions can't get jobs after leaving prison and thus are still not contributing much to the economy, so one should note that on top of the millions in prison now there are many millions more who are no longer in prison but may as well be thanks to the "war on drugs"(War on Commonsense and freedom).
And don't forget their kids who often end up following the same path - don't want to limit hurting your economy to just the here and now, gotta make sure there's plenty of hurting in the future too...
People from all classes and walks of life get locked up for minor drug charges every day under drug prohibition, so this isn't a problem that only affects poor blacks from the ghettos that many people feel(whether they'll admit it or not) won't amount to much anyways and thus aren't a big loss - highly intelligent and educated and productive people get stopped from contributing to society as well.
I wonder how many future pioneers of enterprise that could have built business empires and inspired massive economic growth have been destroyed by the drug war so far?
Oh yeah, don't forget the billions being spent on actually doing all that. What better way to help your nation than to squander massive amounts of money on actively destroying a sizable portion of your economy?
A win - win, eh? Or is that a lose - lose?
Milton Friedman was a great Conservative and one of the main inspirations for me in becoming so interested in politics. He helped open my mind, as he did for many other people.
Anyone who calls themselves a conservative should know Milton Friedman's views as he represents true conservatism, not the fascistic and ultranationalistic false conservatism led by the Republican Party and the Conservative Party of Canada(CPC) in the United States and Canada today that aren't even that fiscally conservative either(though still a great deal more so than the liberals).
If not for Dr. Friedman America would not be where it is today(well, where it was before the recession), but had people listened to him on some other issues it could have been so much more. It still could be, but not with neo-cons/neo-libs in control and pursuing their own agenda that is about maintaining control and serving their own interests rather than providing freedom and liberty for their people.
