I am guessing she was closer to the school then the first child's drop off house. Of course, you can't assume the child house had a basement I suppose. Luckily, she made the right decision with only a little time to spare.
....I wonder though what the tornado chasers would say about her driving INTO the path of a tornado. She did recognioze the tornado. They easily could have all been killed
