Romney delivers birther joke in Michigan
The Obama campaign, of course, is furious.
From my perspective, Romney walked right into this one. Yeah, he was trying to remind people of his Michigan roots, but the whole birther controversy has been stoked by the Obama team. They could have produced that birth certificate at any time, but didn't, allowing all manner of conspiracy theories to develop first. Whether Obama was or wasn't born in the U.S., he's used the birther controversy to paint the right as raving lunatics. And now Romney has earned the "birther" label from the Obama campaign.

Jokes will be made of Obama from now to eternity because of the outlandish secrecy of his school records, law records, and birth certificates that constantly have holes shot through them and the millions he has spent to keep them secret. We ended up getting no hope and no change.

@IIVXTII Demanding college records could be described as a tactic to make someone look guilty of some wrongdoing... Even though releasing them is not routine- That is personal information, and is not routinely released to the public. Bush did not release his either, until after they were leaked to a newspaper. There isn't any evidence that we would even find anything of major importance in his school records. What would they reveal besides bad grades?

Who cares if they're furious? They're just desperate at this point. Obama can't campaign by pointing at his record or his accomplishments. All they can do is claim that Mitt hates women, and that Obama personally killed OBL. It's weak, and it's not going to cut it.
Liberals just need to prepare to claim that Obama lost re-election because Americans are racist. It's all they're ultimately capable of doing.

Yeah, and that's kind of my point in this post. The liberal fury over this may not have much effect, but they will certainly try to use it, just as they've used the birther controversy so far, to tag Romney as racist and ignorant.
Really, it's just a bunch of faux-fury from the left--Obama has made similar jokes about his birth certificate before, too--but they will milk this for all they can.

This election will be won on the economy. Which isn't good for Obama.

Actually, the liberals aren't taking it as a joke, but as a serious, racist attack on Obama's citizenship.

I do have a question.... Obama goes to school in indonesa, which he clearly admits. You can not got to school there without being a legal citizen. When did Obama reclaim his American citizenship? I am no birther... I believe he was born in Hawaii, just wondering how he got back into America when he was clearly an Indosnian. I mean those are the laws..

As for Romney/Hovind, I think it's more how they sound/move. Watch/listen to this vid again - when Romney points down at his birth-land. The point, and his intonation - just his whole manner - watch that right arm, and the head swing in the buildup to the pointing too. lol
